HBI (Hot Briquetted Iron) is a variant of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) which is in demand in the steel industry to produce high quality steel with lower carbon dioxide emissions than steel produced from coal.

HBI is in demand both in the blast furnaces of large integrated steel mills, as well as in the Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFs) used in 60% of American steelmaking.
